Went here today, service was shocking, was one table seated when we went in got our order taken straight away but waited ages on our drinks and even longer for our food, when it came couldn’t taste the fish as it was just pure grease, sweet potato chips not cooked and for somewhere that’s meant to be fresh produce not sure why I seen a bag of frozen chips being taken out of the freezer, avoid the place as it’s not worth it, it’s getting 1 star because I have to so I can post this review otherwise I wouldn’t even give it a star

Went yesterday and was very disappointed . No Tuna no Salmon. No blackcurrant, no limes. Sweet potato was burnt and then mashed. Absolutely disgusting. Some salad leaves were just mush.(off) considering everything is supposed to be fresh we were told that all the cod was already in the batter. Bizarre. Saving grace was my friend had the chicken and chorizo skewer and enjoyed it.

Popped into Pallet on Friday 22nd April with my hubbie as Moon and Pea was full. So glad we did as the lunch was lovely and will definitely go back there again. The Coffee was piping hot, good and strong.

Fabulous chicken, bacon and avocado wrap and sweet potato fries.

I stumbled upon this place yesterday for brunch after moon and pea was too busy to get a seat, as per. Acknowledged by friendly staff as we got in the front door. Ordered the large breakfast and pot of tea. Pot of tea was great, not the usual teabag thrown in from a 1000 pack of Tetley that is often the case from other establishments but a high end teabag from teapigs which made a fine cup. The fry up followed promptly and each item to the breakfast was perfect, eggs cooked to perfection (so important). To put it simply this place obviously care about what they do. I couldn’t help but send my compliments to the chef that make my girlfriend cringe.
I couldn’t recommend enough. Enjoy. Oh and the music was sound also…killer and Bowie, yes!

My husband and I visited On The Pallet for the first time 9 September 2015 for brunch. We both had the small palett breakfast which was excellent. The food was cooked to perfection and certainly was not ‘small’! I agree with a previous customer in the choice of music but felt it could have been a bit lower in volume. The waitress served us with a smile and was very pleasant. We are looking forward to returning very soon to try the evening menu.

Myself and a friend visited The Pallet yesterday and we both came to the same conclusion that it was a gem of a restaurant. Beautiful, rustic feel to the decoration with excellent choice of music. We were served by two young servers who were both very good. The male was the son of the owner and he provided quick service with a smile. When asked questions about the food, he provided excellent knowledge of the meals and was extremely chatty. Now, the best bit… The food. It was divine. Their sweet potato fries were excellent. My friend had the chicken and chorizo skewer was delicious and cooked to perfection. I opted for the chicken, bacon and avocado pitta which was equally brilliant and chose chunky chips on the side. We both agreed that we will be revisiting The Pallet very shortly and I highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Just had a cold panini and some very skinny fries which were undercooked ,portion size was fine but terrible service as we sat for15 mins after finishing food with plates still on the table ,weren’t offered anything else and had to shout for bill .We’ll try again in 6 months if it’s still there

Not great service really and food average. It lacks atmosphere. There is potential though. Hiring fab staff and playing Motown or something, would create something more unique and make me go back.

I had the eggs Benedict and sauce was runny and tasted too vinegary.

Friendly owner and young male waiter, but terrible service from a waitress, who I’ve been ‘served’ by twice. Miserable and unaware of her customers’ needs, she has single-handedly put me off from going again. Second visit, I asked for butter (it came with eggs and wasn’t buttered), so instead of getting it, she pointed to a distant shelf and said “it’s over there.” And I had to get up she fetch it myself! Twice, with this bad service, is enough, so will not return.

On The Pallet provides a relaxed, friendly vibe on a Friday night. Small range of food but enough to satisfy most palettes(!) and very generous servings. My sirloin steak & sweet potato fries were delicious washed down with a chilean merlot – they’ve just got their liquour licence. We bought a bottle with us and because we didn’t know they were licenced – such generosity – our delicious chocolate cake with ice cream was provided free-of-charge 🙂 Owner and staff very friendly, great service, will return. Go give it a try.
